Health Services Accomodation

Set tight against Foster Street and amongst a predominantly residential zone, works needed to be shielded and traffic interruptions managed carefully. The project began with the demolition of dated and dilapidated existing buildings to make way for new accommodation units. In a palette of silvers, greys and white, these 6-Star units are designed to be thermally efficient and harvest rainwater.

Clad in Vitricore and bricked in a basalt-coloured finish, they feature a complexity of glazing and cladding typically found in commercial buildings. The scope of works included alterations to the existing civil facilities and a minimal landscaping package.

Built during a period of significant interruptions, cost escalations and limitations due to COVID restrictions, the project was still completed on time and within budget for a very cooperative client.

Construction Techniques Employed
  • Rendered Hebel Powerwall through the building core
  • Vitricore Powdercoated cladding to both north and south facades
  • 6-Star energy rating including a double glazed window suite
  • Demolition, civil and landscaping
